Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts

A public-private partnership is funding a new performing arts center in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. With 100,000 square feet, 3000 seats across three seating tiers, a state-of-the-art soundsystem, a feature decorative chandelier, and two programmable public lobbies, the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts can host a variety of performance types: from Broadway to opera to rock music to spoken word. The center promises to be a key factor in the reviving cultural district.
H3 was hired as the design architect and carried the design vision through the DD & CD phase while constantly coordinating complex theatrical details with a large team of acousticians, seating designers, lighting consultants, structural engineers, code consultants, construction managers, and the architect of record.
